Obituary for Laurie J. Collett

Laurie J. Collett age 57 of DuBois, PA; passed away on Monday October 15, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA; after a 29 month long battle with Glioblastoma Brain Tumors. Laurie fought hard and was determined to celebrate her daughter’s wedding on October 13. Born on May 15, 1961 in Butler, PA; she was the daughter of Ronald and Janet Males Foringer and they survive. She was married to Willis L. “Will” Collett on October 22, 1983 in New Bethlehem, PA; and he survives.
Laurie was a 1979 graduate of Redbank Valley High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Clarion University in Medical Technology. She was employed at Penn Highlands DuBois as Senior Medical Technologist and Supervisor of Hematology. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in DuBois.
In addition to her parents and her husband she is also survived by a daughter Kelsey (Zachary) Bauer of DuBois. She is also survived by 2 sisters: Linda (Vern) Moore of St. David, Arizona and Lisa (Nick) Nicholson of Pickens, South Carolina; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 19 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Adamson Funeral Chapel in DuBois. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday October 20 at 11:00 AM at the First United Presbyterian Church in DuBois with Rev. Sarah Sedgwick and Lamarr Adamson CLP co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery in Frogtown. Although flowers are appreciated, the family requests memorials be made to the Erie Shrine Hospital for Children C/O DuBois Area Shrine Club 531 East Sheridan Avenue DuBois, PA 15801 or to the DuBois Food Pantry.
